Sonepur sizzles at 44 degrees, highest in state

In eight towns of the state’s western and interior parts, mercury touched 43 degrees Celsius and above on Sunday. Continuous rise in day temperature affected regular lives in these regions. At 44 degrees Celsius, Sonepur became the hottest place in Odisha for the day.
