People of three villages in Bargarh district have turned protectors of birds which flock in large numbers to Hirakud reservoir and Debrigarh wildlife sanctuary. After the wildlife wing of the forest department, which is the custodian of Debrigarh, motivated the villagers to take up conservation of the winged guests, people of Lakhanpur, Tamdei and Ramkhol declared themselves on Saturday as ‘bird villages’.
