Newlywed victim was to go on study leave

Vijay Kumar’s family in Bhagwan village, in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh, watched in horror on Thursday their TV screen deliver the chilling headline: “Bank manager shot dead in J&K’s Areh Mohanpora”. Kumar (28), married for just over three months, had joined the branch a few days ago. He was to go on study leave soon to prepare for various bank exams in the hope of getting a job in his native Rajasthan or a neighbouring state. Kumar last spoke to his father on Wednesday. “He could clear any exam. But look what fate had in store,” the grieving father said. TNN
