Crime Branch pins hope on CCTVs

In Bhubaneswar, there is still mystery surrounding the death of gobinda sahu, prime accused in the murder of teacher Mamita Meher. The crime branch is pinning its hopes on the jail’s 16 CCTV cameras to make a headway in its investigation. Jail authorities said Sahu was found hanging from the window railing of the jail kitchen’s rear side that was not under the CCTV surveillance. “The place where Sahu was found hanging is secluded and not under any CCTV camera but we are hopeful of getting some clues by verifying the other cameras his movement from his ward till the kitchen must have been recorded in other cameras. We have asked the jail officials to submit the CCTV footage of all cameras at the earliest,” a senior crime branch official said.
