Cannabis plants worth over Rs 979 crore destroyed in Odisha in last three years

Despite the government’s sustained efforts to stop cannabis cultivation and ganja smuggling in the state, drug mafia continue to promote cultivation of the illegal crop with impunity. According to a written reply by excise minister Niranjan Pujari in the assembly on Monday, cannabis plants worth more than Rs 979 crore were destroyed in different districts in the last three years.
